In a game high on endeavour but low on quality, Bargoed were the better side, building a 10-0 lead by half time, and Ebbw could have had no complaints if they had lost. However, a try by winger Kier Hughes began the Steelmen’s comeback, and, despite coming under huge pressure when Rob Sevenoaks was harshly yellow carded, the home side withstood the threat. Outside half Dai Langdon burst through Bargoed’s defence for a last minute try, which he also converted, to nick the result for Ebbw Vale.
