These two teams, lying in 2nd and 3rd place at the start of the match, shared 92 points in the sunshine at the Arms Park. Cardiff fought back bravely after falling behind to an early Rhys Jones penalty and had a bonus point in the bag after just 20 minutes. The cup winners were relentless, leading 42-3 at the interval and maintaining their dominance throughout to claim 75 of those shared 92 points. Ebbw did rally briefly, as Stefan Thomas and Rhys Jones touched down, the latter converting both, but that was merely an interlude as the home side bounced back again, their pace and power proving too much for the uncharacteristically jaded Ebbw defence.

There was great disappointment among the many Ebbw supporters present, but this was eased a good deal by reflecting on the overall campaign that saw targets met: top Gwent side, 20 wins and a top 6 finish. Our thanks go to the players, coaches, support staff and management for seeing us through what has been a good season.
